Vision International School (VIS) is a modern, purpose-built educational facility located in Al Wakrah, a suburb of Doha, Qatar. Opened in September 2014, the school is owned by the renowned Almuftah Group and is a Member of the Council for International Schools (CIS). VIS caters to students from Pre-K through Grade 12, with a current capacity of 225 students initially and an eventual maximum capacity of 1200. The school offers an American international curriculum, complemented by Arabic language, Qatari History, and Islamic Studies. While classes for Pre-K through Kindergarten 2 (KG2) are co-educational, students in Grades 1 and up attend single-gender sections, aligning with the school's mission as a "gender-separate American-curriculum school." Admission for Pre-KG requires children to be 3 years old by September 30, and proficiency in English is expected for most grades, with exceptions for Pre-KG, KG1, and KG2. VIS boasts a comprehensive range of facilities designed to support a rich learning environment. These include dedicated sections for early childhood, elementary, and middle/high school, a full-size gymnasium, a swimming pool, two cafeterias, well-equipped libraries, and specialized labs for art, science, and music. Students also benefit from exciting play spaces, both shaded and fully air-conditioned, and a robust After School Activities program for all grades from KG1 upwards. The school's mission emphasizes preparing students for the 21st century by fostering collaborative problem-solving, independent learning, and self-expression through fine arts and athletics, alongside instilling ethics, care, and compassion. VIS aims to shape creative individuals, local leaders, global learners, and 21st-century learners, celebrating the culture and traditions of Qatar while promoting global awareness.

PROS : This school has a lots of lovely , native English speaking teachers .They always treat the students with respect .The English knowledge of my kids skyrocketed here . It has very nice facilities as well . The PE , the ART , the Music all taken seriously. Kids were composing music , giving concerts , creating art .They learned and praticed a lots of different games at PE . My kids went there for three years . They loved their teachers and miss them . After reading this you might ask why we tranfered to other school . Well , every place has its drawbacks . VIS was not perfect ,either . At least not for us . CONS : This school is not truly international . Many classes got only one or two expat students - who might feel not comfortable , not welcomed by their local peers . For us the first two years went well . Then there was a change in the management and kids with known records of behavorial problems were admitted .This resulted in constant bullying and very bad atmosphere in the class for one of my child. Also we were informed about the transportation between Doha and Wakra was not certain anymore . We missed the field trips / They had only one or two per year . We missed the International or Country Day like in other international school they celebrate the diversity of the students .The swimming pool was out of use so long ! My smaller child could not swim after 3 years going there ! Summary : my experience briefly after 3 years with two kids - this is a place where your kids can get some kind of privileged education :) but not sure they will find a friend :(
